I’d like to laugh but it genuinely disgusts me. They are actually planning on extending their stadium to pump more money into the club to bypass PSR, claiming record attendances and maximum gate receipts while the world can see that their fanbase is non-existent. It’s cheating. In plain sight. And the premier league are not doing anything to stop them.
How good was Fernandes for the winner by the way?
Pressure on deep into injury time, has the presence of mind to step over the ball to gain advantage, then continues to dig out cross while being fouled by Bassey rather than take a free-kick. Reaches his target, of course. #MUFC
@jonawils probably get ignored by you and your mates. Could you explain why it’s not a penalty by Saliba against Cunha in the final minutes of the game. Cheers pal 👍🏼
See, no one is saying winning the Europa will salvage the season. This season will be the worst one in the PL era. That's a fact. Winning the Europa will not change it.
But what Roy, Gary, Scholes, etc don't understand is not winning the Europa will make the situation so much worse. We can't do anything about the league positions in May. The league is done. But we are still in a position to get back into CL through the Europa.
Getting back to the CL is essential if we want to rebuild and restore United. Finances, negotiating power, club profile, manager stock—everything will go up if we can get CL football next season. More importantly, it will give us a European trophy and a massive boost to morale in an otherwise devastating season, both on and off the field. Rebuilding United for sustainable success in the LEAGUE and Cups become so much easier. Next season's PL results potentially depend on this season's Europa campaign.
And that is why United and Amorim are focusing on the Europa over everything else. That’s why we’re resting key players in the league and letting those coming back from injury get some game time to find their form - all to boost our Europa campaign.
Just ask for a bit of nuance from our former players. The outrage is getting boring now.
If I’d lost a child in the most horrific way possible I’m sure I’d take enormous comfort in having several hundred apes drinking dark fruits outside my house attacking the police over something they read on twitter.
Something so satisfying about this man’s refusal to take the bait with the usual leading questions on migration. Just calmly & stubbornly fair-minded, straightforward, no nonsense answers in a perfect Wexford accent right in the middle of the town. 10/10
