Finished an 8-mile evening ruck around Lady Bird Lake. Got distracted by a little raccoon playing in a tree just as @lexfridman jogged by—both looked focused on their tasks. The new Wishbone Bridge looks incredible, and it’s hard to believe this February weather.

The Wishbone Bridge is officially open! This morning, folks from all over Austin came together to celebrate the opening the way Austinites do it best—with food, fun, a little running, lots of bikes, and some good music.

The Wishbone Bridge and Unity Underpass wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our city departments. I’m so proud that the City delivered this project ahead of schedule (four months to be exact) and on budget. We’re working hard in Austin to make sure we’re delivering big projects like this on time and on budget, to enhance the experience of everyone who lives, works, and plays here. The community support has been great  

This project also wouldn’t have been possible without funding from the 2020 Mobility Bond and a $4 million federal appropriation secured by Congressman Greg Casar.

The opening of this bridge and underpass is a huge milestone for our community. I’m so happy to be a part of another Austin success and getting things done.
