Shoveled out paths through a couple of intersections this afternoon. Did not take long, and it was better than being mad. Another neighbor started up as I wrapped up, which made me happy. We can make this easier.
@charlesallen I’m so sorry to hear this shocking news. I enjoyed talking with Chris over the years and was impressed by his professionalism and dedication. And he was a super-nice guy.
Please let us know what we can do for his family.
@DCBeer @cbc_dc Erika is one of the nicest people in business, let alone in beer. I frequently stopped there to say “hey” and wound up taking beer home. She built a community through her pandemic virtual tastings, and we will remember that forever. Thanks, Erika!
Stopped by the National Mall on my way to work this morning and saw the @uscpsc blowing things up to demonstrate how not to handle fireworks. They rapidly are becoming the coolest of the independent agencies.
@maustermuhle If, going counterclockwise, you add in the NW Branch to Sligo Creek Trail to Capitol Crescent to Key Br to Custis/W&OD to 4 Mile Run to MT Vernon, you can add quite a bit more water time. It’s about 35 miles, but I really like that loop.
There are Emergency No Parking signs IN THE 200 b/o M NE protected bike lane, and cars STILL park there. Many folks (@tonytgoodman & others) have contacted @311DCgov & @ddotdc about that bike lane but nothing has changed.
@DDOTDC-what’s the plan? cc: @CMCharlesAllen & @NoMaBID
@carsieblanton@folkrockdiva @thebirchmere We were in the audience that night and thought that we'd politely listen to your opener while we waited for you and your handsome band to appear. Politeness quickly turned to awe. Lilli Lewis was amazing. Thanks to you both.
@sbk1799@DCZia@jaybeas@BikeLawyerDC I took my 9-yr-old on the Sheriff Rd. route on a weekday evening last year and wasn't too nervous. Drivers were surprisingly patient and road-sharey. YMMV. I'd be happy to ride it with you sometime before August. If we get hit, I know a good lawyer...
@sbk1799@DCZia@jaybeas@bikelawyerdc followed me when @DCzia recommended me for advice - good business development. Kenilworth route is OK, but there's a beach's worth of sand on the road & people drive fast. The Sheriff Rd route on Google Maps is OK, but you may want to take the sidewalk at parts.
@311DCgov@TonyTGoodman@DDOTDC@CMCharlesAllen@NoMaBID Thank you. I appreciate your responsiveness. Problem is you give us request nos. but @ddotdc does nothing with those. People routinely driving-and needing to post ENP signs-in a protected bikelane is a problem. A temp. solution would be a start but we haven’t even gotten that.
@311DCgov@TonyTGoodman@DDOTDC@CMCharlesAllen@NoMaBID Thx, but this is a @DDOTDC issue. Flexposts & parkits are gone, much of the paint is gone, and Ive had people drive right at me bc it doesn't look like a bikelane. My kids bike on that street. It's next to the MBT & schools. The community has been patient w this nonsense. Fix it!
I figured that my confusing DC tax issue would take weeks of bureaucratic hell to fix. When I asked @CMCharlesAllen for advice, his staff worked with @mytaxdc to fix the issue in under an hour. I'm shocked and appreciate the fantastic constituent service. Thank you all!
