@BiankaB12 Remarkable work. Coming from Lithuania, I often feel like having extrasensuality for spotting ru propaganda where friends from W.Europe don't see a thing. Thank you for giving it a solid structure! P.S.I hope your tweet isn't a breadcrumb for me :)
@PM_ViktorOrban Ukraine is invaded by aggressive Russia and is fighting for her own survival as a sovereign country, as well as for the freedom in Europe. Your attitude is hypocritical and your policy is defeatist.
@andrewmichta Listening to that Russian cop should bring to the conclusion that Russia is a mafia organization, not a state. 1, the source of authority is violence. 2, Russia itself says it has no borders ("never ends"). 3, laws are bent as necessary, e.g. Prigozhin shoots down a plane, but no
@APranckevicius@LTEmbassyFR 1940, not 1941. Hitler occupied Paris on June 14, 1940. The next day Soviet Union occupied Lithuania. And the historic Embassy was lost during the next few months
Russia seeks to reshape Europe’s security architecture because the Baltics show freedom brings wealth, strength, and safety.
@trtworld@GSSC_LT
GDP per capita (2025, @IMFNews):
🇱🇹 $30,835
🇱🇻 $24,374
🇪🇪 $32,760
Russia: $14,258
@RepDonBacon Thank you. Continued US commitment to the security of the Baltics would be highly appreciated as they would send a clear signal to any aggressor.
#Lithuania consistently advocates for higher defense spending in Europe - and we put our money where our mouth is. This year, we rank 2nd among #NATO allies in defense spending.
Next year, we’re raising the bar and going above 5% of GDP. Strength is built through investment.
#WeAreNATO #StrongerTogether
On 23 August 1939, a non-aggression pact between Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union triggered WWII. In protest against the oppressing Soviet occupation, 2 million people in 🇱🇹 🇱🇻 🇪🇪stood in the Baltic Way, expressing the will to break free from the empire of evil.
I remember all the naysayers who argued that Putin would never allow for the Baltic states to join NATO. Thank God, President Bush did not listen to them and did not ask for Putin's permission to do so.
@alexstubb As the Baltic states are not at the table, I trust you have the most educated analysis of the present and vision for the future. You will remember that if you let RU leave a finger in the door, that door will be claimed sooner or later.
On June 15 in 1940, the USSR occupied Lithuania. The USSR did not care about international treaties. Deportations, murders, and terrors followed for the next 50 years.
Russia took on USSR's legacy, waging wars against its neighbours, yet to be contained.
The USSR regime claimed millions of innocent lives. One of the first Soviet terror operations took place on 14-18 of June 1941, when almost 18k innocent people were deported from #Lithuania to Siberia – most of them women & children. Many never returned home.
