What's been going on in the studio this summer? Lots at the blog about recent work with @the_lunarenergy, @CarefulTrouble, and working on @genmon's AI Clock prototype:

My availability is opening up for August and beyond - more at the site on that too!
@ivorinfo@genmon also: this kind of work is useful as a _prop_ for why - recently built some prototypes to use _in_ research - something for participants to question/explore/disagree with. it's easier to ask "why" about something that exists, rather than about big ideas.
@ivorinfo@genmon "why" is often overrated. or, at least, _clear_ ideas of why. we make the path by walking. it's sometimes useful to answer the question "what would the world be like if?" and the "why" will come into focus.
and: you usually find lots of other interesting questions on the way.
@rachelcoldicutt @naomialderman but yes, I adore the "our heros are always too early and also not even as good as the history that happened, and that's why this story exists." Joe and the Mac, knowing he's beaten (I have a limited number of anecdotes)
@rachelcoldicutt @jcalpickard@infovore I will always talk about this. I was holding out for you to see how it changes layer, and how it gets _better_. And different. And how much.i love Joe, and Gordon, and Donna, and Cameron. But not _that_ Joe. The one he grows into.
(Also who bet on how good the kids would be!)
@dracos @cackhanded I am not always the greatest at software maintenance, I will admit, but even by 2014 it was clear that Twitter was Not For Goofy Fun. Also, my patience was a little sapped after the exhibition gazumped the Twitter handle from me.
on the offchance you're looking for an excellent analog smoothing library for the RP2040 / Raspberry Pi Pico in C(++) - I tweaked the popular "ResponsiveAnalogRead" Arduino library to work on it: https://t.co/rdP9rVk4DD
"What is this prototype for?" - notes from what happened when a prototype hit a snag, that led to a reflection on being 'in credit' with the hardware gods.

It's February, and time for worknotes. Notes on the end of one contract, the beginning of some work with @xtrrdnryfclty , and some teaching at @ual_cci :

Worknotes, November 2020: catching up on several months of practice, including wrapping _Easington_, and exploring why weeknotes fell by the wayside (spoilers: 2020 issues): https://t.co/yFyLwKBtTI
great short film about the recent efforts at @makerversity on producing PPE using rapid-manufacture techniques:

So impressed with my colleagues who have just Kept Doing The Work to produce standards-compliant designs at scale.
