Gareth's family fought for four years for a Coroner to recognise that gambling was the medical cause of his death.

Coroners are seeing what bereaved families have known for years – that gambling causes suicide and hundreds of people are dying every year. Proper examination of gambling during inquests helps ensure lessons are identified and future deaths can be prevented.

Gambling products are developed to cause addiction and they behave as intended. Gaz’s inquest highlighted that when there is proper public information and warnings there will be less stigma and shame and people will know how to help.
