If the State of Hawaii really cares and wants to do it right, they’ll take the whole area of Lahaina - for miles out - & just outright give it back to everyone who lived there and lost their home, to be rebuilt at State expense as the LOCALS see fit.
Keep a historic, memorial park where oceanFront Street used to be and give each & every resident a BIG lot (not a postage stamp - surrounding plantations can lose some unused grasslands). Plus Infrastructure & a BIG Construction Cost credit & a fast-track route through the Planning Dep. Plus temporarily mitigate Maui’s impossible building codes. And put the electric underground this time.
THAT’S How we can help eachother instead of sending $100B to Ukraine.
Estimated cost? 2700 homes x .7M/home x 1.5 management & infrastructure rebuild = $2.8B. That’s like Half of what the Insurance company payouts (being withheld) are supposed to be…
Peanuts compared to sending war toys to Ukraine. Literally = the cost of 4 Bombers.
There's a scarcity of physical desire and a surplus of metaphysical desire. Even after a 16 years in the classroom, too many students are unaware of who they really are and what they really care for. They have no sense of curiosity and no clue what interests them.
