If you have a few moments to listen to this interview as a parent with your child.
Possible one of the best post race interviews I have ever watched #PlayOn
Your kindness can kill a bumblebee 💔
📢 Please share! Bumblebee queens are starting to emerge from hibernation. British weather isn’t always ideal and people with the best intentions can cause more harm good. Let’s change that.

@leicdan @JTA_Endo @anjan_dhar6@JonnyBlackwell@RichardPollok@BSG@BSGTrainees@BritSocGastro Gastro regs are desperate to train in endoscopy and provide service lists. We need support of BSG and senior gastro to improve endoscopy training. BSG advocating the addition of PAs to training mix suggests they value cheaper, less skilled labour rather than prioritising trainees
Can’t quite believe @bsg have decided to support PA training in endoscopy. Gastro registrars everywhere scrapping to get endoscopy signed off pre-CCT. How is PA endoscopy within their scope of practice? How is this helping to improve our training opportunities? @BSGTrainees
@RichardPollok@BSG@BSGTrainees Gastro trainees are desperate to train in endoscopy, achieve timely sign off, train the next cohort of registrars and contribute to endoscopy service. @BritSocGastro statement has damaged my trust that those leading Gastroenterology in the UK want us to succeed as trainees
@RichardPollok@BSG@BSGTrainees I don’t know a world without CNS endoscopists, and I owe the vast amount of my endoscopy training to them. The current endoscopy service ecosystem seems to work. Ultimately, my worry is not really PA ability to perform endoscopy, it’s about why they need to. 1/
@nidhi_sagar84@JonnyBlackwell@RichardPollok@BSG@BSGTrainees Yep, common practice unfortunately. Trainees with the time, enthusiasm and logistical ability to come in on their days off should be free to explore specialist interests eg research, advanced techniques rather than collection of core competencies.
Just spent over 1 hour on the phone to @BritSocGastro President @andymveitch - he is not good on twitter but is seeing the tweets, but as you can see from his 88 posts, this is not his preferred way to communicate. 1/x
PhD studentship at Manchester - we have an exciting opportunity to study crosstalk between the circadian clock, gut microbiome and immunity, in collaboration with @katcoyte and @tomdbutler. Fully funded studentship, get in touch for more info. https://t.co/mOKlOEPTTk
Excited to contribute to the circadian content at the BSI @bsicongress ! If you’re interested in how the clock regulates the immune system, come and see posters from the Gibbs lab including mine (p-581), @tomdbutler ‘s (p-211) and @DevinASimpkins’s (p-593)!
Are you a night owl or an early bird? 🦉🐦Either way, you can help researchers at the University of Manchester find out if human body clocks and sleep play a role in IBD. Find out more and take the questionnaire 👇
