@AnthonyFGomez@nineinchnails Still one of my favorite soundtracks!
And so far I'm liking the soundtrack to the new Dawn of the Machine campaign too, really nice.
@AkaruiSora_ It's going well, making steady progress. Hopefully I'll find time to travel again sometime soon, then I'll actually get to use it a bit. But I find it's also just fun to learn a new language.
@ID_AA_Carmack Just throwing a random thought out there. NAND these days is often Quad-Level Cell. The hardware decodes and sends binary across the bus. Maybe one could skip that and just send the 4 levels across a dedicated bus and decode on the CPU to get a 2x bigger bus?
@eneri74362847 Looks like you're right. And of course no matter what, we can never be sure unless we had the full dataset and actually repeated the training. Not exactly feasible.
@AnthonyFGomez Have you tried setting up a house of cards at Rocket Ranch before a launch? I suppose it would probably collapse, but if not it would be hilarious.
@jessica_kirsh@elonmusk However it will be done, one thing that makes it easier is that unlike Starlink, for data centers latency doesn't really matter that much. Even a second of latency is fine, so the satellites can in principle be orbiting halfway to the moon, which means there's plenty of space.
@jessica_kirsh Yes, watching right now! I'm also considering going out later tonight when the moon rises here, just to see the moon at a moment when I know there are some people behind it.
@jessica_kirsh Have you tried to run some local AIs? Things like Qwen 3.5 or Gemma 4 are really good at this point. Obviously not Grok 4.20 level, but if it runs on your hardware then it's basically yours forever.
@jessica_kirsh It was just amazing! Hoping for some great views when they actually fly by the moon.
But of course, this is just the beginning, and that's the really exciting part.
@FelixSchlang@elonmusk I mean abundance isn't an either/or thing, it's just that more productivity simply means more abundance (although unfortunately a lot of productivity is wasted, so there's that). But in the case of Tesla, more productivity should mean more Tesla products, no?
@FelixSchlang@elonmusk If Optimus works really well, I think they'll start producing more types of cars again by using Optimus. Greater autonomy leads to greater abundance. Tesla is just entering a transition phase for now, so we'll have to be patient.
@tsoding But is that self hosted if you need a different compiler to compile the compiler?
You could make a compiler that only accepts one possible source file, which results in the compiler binary. All other sources are syntax errors. That would be truly self hosted.
@jessica_kirsh I live way out of the city now, there's woods everywhere here, so I'm often in the woods. But we sure don't have those kinds of leaves. Wow!
