@AJArietaPH@muratayukizane You just can't be put into situations like that without doing anything effective yourself in the ring anymore in Japan. This wasn't because he was Filipino, Oguni got stopped while ahead on the cards, coming off his best round of the fight.
The referee steps in and stops Andales in the 9th. Some will call it early, but there were probably about 3 times that the referee could have pulled Andales out. He absorbed a disgusting amount of damage.
Kataoka looked phenomenal. Barely took a single clean shot.
@ATokkers5 I don't think he would be fast tracked any sooner by Teiken than Ohashi. I've not seen Teiken make any crazy matchmaking like Kataoka-Andales before. The real issue is development in the gym ofc.
@ChubsRingSmarts Excellent amateur who went 57-1 in the unpaid ranks. Went pro earlier this year with Ohashi Gym, the same team as Naoya Inoue. He's considered a phenomenal talent due to his excellent speed. Was an Olympic hopeful until they eliminated his weight class.
BTW, "Jap" is offensive.
Chairman Hideyuki Ohashi gives Raito Kataoka his blessing for a world title challenge in his fourth professional fight. He also mentions the possibility of challenging at minimumweight, not light flyweight.

Two rounds in to Raito Kataoka vs ArAr Andales, there is a clear chasm in skill between the two fighters. Andales will need to tire out Kataoka or gamble on one big punch.
