@taxchic_k You are allowed to use the designation “CPA” (like someone working in industry only) and do not have to disclose your registered only status. If you start doing bookkeeping, accounting or taxes you are supposed to upgrade to a regular license. It’s a self monitored system.
@taxchic_k In Michigan, it’s an inactive person who earned a CPA license in the past but is no longer practicing publicly. If you do anything for the public, including tax preparation, you are supposed to have a “regular” license and pay all appropriate fees to the state.
