I am appalled that Brad Lander, the Democratic nominee for NY-10, was detained by the IDF in the West Bank alongside rabbis and other activists in the annual olive harvest. It is a stark reminder of the abuses Palestinians face on a near daily basis doing even the simplest of tasks, like harvesting olives on the land their families have cultivated for centuries.
