New handle @tone88. No more @ktonga.
In Argentina every Gastón gets called Tonga. My brother started calling me Tone when we were kids and it stuck. Tonga is the default. Tone is just mine.
That handle was taken, so I slapped a K in front. At the time I was in love with KDE and everything started with K. Kmail, Kthis, Kthat. Not anymore. The project turned into a leftist cesspool.
88 is not the year I was born. It's from a remote-control car I had as a kid. Loved that thing. Been my number ever since.
Migrating Google Photos to @ProtonDrive. The CLI covered most of the upload, which made the bulk of the move straightforward. The photo side still misses a few basics. Not expecting parity with a product refined over decades, just enough to actually browse and play the library.
Limited format support. Several files had no preview until I converted them. Broader preview support would remove that extra step.
Two things that blocked day-to-day use:
- The CLI generates thumbnails for images, not videos. Any plan to add that?
- Video playback is very slow, close to unusable. Is that an inherent limitation of the encryption, or something that can catch up with Google Photos over time?
Tried the new Kiro CLI V3 for a few days. Unusable.
Permissions change is a disaster. It prompts after basically every keystroke. Constant interruptions, zero flow. Migrating agents didn't keep the old behavior either, so everything that used to just work now fights me.
Worse, Kiro has no idea how its own system works. Ask it to fix the permissions or agent config and it wanders off changing random things, pulls a pile of docs from the internet, and still applies the wrong changes. Completely unproductive.
The new permissions model killed the tool for me. Might go back to V2, which is a shame because I was looking forward to some of the new stuff.
@kirodotdev
Esto nunca, pero NUNCA debe llegar a la Argentina. Y me chupa bien un huevo que me denuncie la gente que defiende esta cultura de MIERDA por decir la VERDAD. Gente además, que no se le cae la cara de la VERGÜENZA.
@dhh They are opposites.
Open source is voluntary and decentralized. It is an individual decision.
Socialism and communism are involuntary and centralized. No decisions are made by the individual.
