The Scientific Computing course notes by Jeffrey R. Chasnov (2013) is now in @ChapterPal's collection of open textbooks.
This volume is a set of lecture-based textbook notes for readers with a mathematical background, especially mathematics majors, who want to learn how computation can solve problems that resist direct analytic treatment. It assumes no previous study of numerical analysis.
Calculus supports much of the numerical material, and multivariable calculus is useful for the fluid mechanics chapters; the book also introduces MATLAB as a working tool.
The book connects core numerical algorithms with two extended areas of application: nonlinear dynamical systems and computational fluid dynamics.
It begins with the limits of computer number representation and the effects of round-off, then develops methods for finding roots, integrating functions, solving ordinary differential equations, and handling linear systems.
Further chapters cover finite-difference approximations, iterative solvers, interpolation, and least-squares fitting. Across these topics, the organizing concerns are accuracy, error, convergence, computational cost, and the practical choice of method. The presentation explains how algorithms are built and used, while explicitly giving limited attention to the deeper theory of numerical analysis.

oh… soobin was initially planning to decline the role, but that meeting with the production team convinced her to take it #TakeChargeofMyHeart
“To be honest, I had a lot of concerns when I was first offered the role. Aside from the genre itself, I was at a crossroads worrying about whether I might get trapped in the romcom genre, which made me hesitate even more. So when I first went to meet the writer and director, I actually intended to politely decline. However, when they told me, ‘This rom-com might be predictable and a familiar flavor, but we will make it absolutely delicious,’ I felt I could trust them and decided to take it on.”

so both arambhi & vikrant are jailed based on murder charges but she has gotten a bail but vikrant's charge is unbailable? also everyone & their mothers are walking in & out of jail as if its some field trip 😭 bhai hardly 10 episodes are left, kuch toh sharam karo 😭😭

"We’re not breaking up” Sirius said firmly. “Maybe this is all news to the rest of you, but I’ve loved Moony since—” he stopped short, and scratched his nose to cover it; “since… a while. Now we’ve sorted out our shit. We’re happy"
oh sirius baby 😭 😭

NAWAB SANKI OBSESSEED BRAR IS CLAIMING HIS GIRL👇👇
" Iss ki Bagal wali seat pe humesha likha hoga RESERVED ” 🔥
“Occupied forever” 🔥
"Kisi ne bhi baithne ki koshish ki toh I will KILL him "
“Heer sirf meri hai" ❤️🔥
Nawab first acts non-chalant in front of Heer by saying he dint come to Manali for her but then goes onto warn 🎸 to stay away from his girl bec he has not given that right to anyone yet 😎..
He is openly claiming Heer as his girl now irrespective of the divorce happened or not 🤣..Its like I might have freed her on papers but I have not given her the permission to roam around with any XYZ as I m still her man 😌❤️🔥..
I loved his badass attitude here ..This is exactly whats needed to get the truth out from Heer's mouth ..Just claim her as his girl in front of all by hook or by crook bec he knows even she is doing all this to save him ..
And Heer bbg stop lying that his voice have stopped echoing in your ears bec just few minutes back inside the bus u kept chanting his name while asking Buzo about his well being 😒..
Heer dragging 🎸 with her to make Nawab jealous reminded me of a certain ghaghra dialogue in past 🤣..Looks like 🎸 has a death wish in Manali😆 but makers need to stop forcibly shoving him in #Heewab scenes..
.@ComedienneMsPat opens up about her journey to success, the mistakes she made along the way, and how she's reflecting on it all in her new memoir, 'Miss American Dream.'

My Review for #LineOfFire *Paper Trails*🔥🪽
🚨 Minor Spoilers 🚨
I know I say it a lot but WOW‼️This show is officially 4-for-4 and it continues to exceed expectations! Episode 4 continued the absolutely amazing pace it has set from the start, and it just keeps getting better and better.
We are finally diving deeper into the overarching lore of Jack and those origami cranes. Finding out he was a Blade Runner fan is such a cool, layered character detail which I personally love. While the puzzle pieces are coming together, the show is still delivering an excellent case-of-the-week format.
Tonight gave us those amazing father/daughter team ups between Mike (Peter Krause) and Clare (Kat cunning) even if Clare didn't see the vision or appreciate it at first! Mike is proving to be a true poppa bear, always watching over his family even when they resist it, and their dynamic is so fun to watch.
Peter and Kat work so well off each other and I really enjoyed their scenes together and hope we get more going forward. Seeing this family realize that they work best when working together is something I can’t wait to see unfold to the characters as time goes on, because they truly are the most powerhouse family!
But oh man, the plot is THICKENING. Micah found himself in some incredibly hot water (literally spiked Molly water) while on vacation with the President's daughter, Sydney. Russ swooped in like the amazing brother he is but it didn’t come without a bit of sibling rivalry. We also have Micah being a murder suspect and Detective Wallace circling the Hollingsworth family like a shark. The ripples from this are massive, bringing out total momma bear energy from Jane (Hope Davis). She will stop at absolutely nothing to protect her kids, so much so that she makes a massive gamble….Jane confides the entire Hollingsworth family secret to Wallace. But the truth still remains hidden to the kids which is bubbling to the surface.
The web of lies is tangling up so fast, and the stakes are through the roof. It’s delicious tv to watch and it’s so masterfully woven you’re on the edge of your seat while having a blast at the same time 💥
To top off an already incredible episode, the massive news dropped today that @nbc just ordered 5 MORE EPISODES to be added to their original 13 episode season🙌🏼 We are officially getting 18 episodes of pure entertainment! This show has completely found its stride, and the network clearly knows they have a massive hit on their hands! I’ll take 20 more seasons please and thank you because this is how you do television right 🔥
Watch #LineofFire on @nbc and @City_tv on Mondays at 10pm and next day on @peacock 🔥
I was talking to someone and they’re right bookstagram and booktok is better than booktwt. At least there is a variety and I can find creators with similar tastes that I have. Also I don’t have to deal with pretentious people who think they’re the supreme reader!

KHOM KHLANG EP6
#ข่มขลังตอนที่6
can’t stop thinking about this scene… this is the best confession scene i’ve ever seen in a long, long while. there’s so much weight in its simplicity; it’s quiet with just them and their vows which are so beautifully said that it made “i love you” pale in comparison. this scene is going to stick with me for a long time. thank you puinoonbint and the khom khlang team once again for this absolute masterpiece 🤍
