When I was young I asked myself why America needed the big headache of supporting Israel as strongly as they do

It wasn't a question born out of animosity towards Jews, but a reaction to seeing the bombings, hijackings and chaos happening in the 80s and thinking what does this have to do with me?

The reason I didn't know the answer is because it was far too complicated for someone with little life experience, limited knowledge and no understanding of history to figure out

This conflict hasn't been about Israelis or Palestinians for a long time. Territorial disputes are nothing new to this planet and the world always moves on. That this conflict has been frozen in this perpetually inflamed state is because there are external powers that want it to remain this way...it's a proxy for great powers to challenge the United States and more recently Western Civilization

Every young generation thinks the older generations are idiots and that they understand the world better. Then they grow up and reality hits them over the head with a sledgehammer and view start being refined...that's the cycle

But as I like to say, reality is still undefeated

Not all of these young people are going to figure this out, but enough will
