@matsonj I think the problem is people take short cuts to get something done as fast as possible, even though it will cause them future pain. Coding takes a longer upfront investment, but it pays off in the future. Plus, employers don’t push people to automate.
@VenmoSupport I am having a terrible time. Venmo is not letting me make payments and no one responded to my contact form submission. And the chat bot won’t let me chat with a human. Please help me!
@d_feldman Here is the one that baffles me the most. Why do people use the Clear Plus line at the airport when the TSA pre-check line is complete empty? Do people enjoy status so much they will choose to wait longer?
@OlgaBerezovsky@ergestx@profitwelll@ChartMogul To piggyback off the initial premise of this thread, the primary objective of any data project should be to create value/profit for the organization that will materialize in the income statement. If that isn't the desired outcome it's existence should be seriously questioned.
@OlgaBerezovsky@ergestx And I can guarantee that at every organization, some level of accounting is being done in spreadsheets, which is certainly inferior to the MDS.
@ergestx And while it is true that this is all conjecture from a completely ill-informed source, the main point is that there is TONS of opportunity for data teams to lean-in on producing balance sheet and income statement data products that could benefit a company greatly.
