@Heartzytv@kelskiYT@iloveairbagged The issue with investors is they change the dynamic of development to the point where they may want to dictate what type of market you are trying to reach with your game. They can say things like "we need your art style to have a more wide-reaching appeal", etc.

@kantallive I would change that to "art style". Realistically graphics aren't that important. So long as they do what the vision and art direction ask while performing well and have stable frame rates. A lot of people confuse graphics and art style as the same thing
Wow.
Just made my first AI video game with Google’s Genie 3!
The prompt: "Make me a AAAA Bethesda-style space RPG about exploring moons. Focus entirely on rock textures, ignore actual gameplay content."
The gaming industry has never been so cooked.
@WGruess@greendragonhq@elonmusk A 10yo who takes a sip of their dads open beer is drinking illegally, but they are not a criminal. It's really not that complicated....
You don't get to disregard international law just because you agree with the outcome, or it works against your enemy. Today you'll agree with the criminal act because it benefits you, but tomorrow you might be the next victim, and then what?
@jadel4w@JordanMossy Ok I guess I should have clarified. I agree with your statement that bare bones is also good. I guess I would just argue against the idea that art in video games is as important as the design or gameplay. I kind of align with the Japanese game design philosophy in that way.
@jadel4w@JordanMossy As an artist I actually disagree. There are too many examples to name where the art or style is good but very bare bones and the game is still a massive success. However you'd be hard-pressed to find the inverse to be true.
