@dubiousdueler Really good work has been done on understanding this in animal models but I think we use breathing in a very unique way. This should be reflected by differences in circuits generating these rhythms but it’s so hard to measure them in humans. So I don’t know what to do 🤷🏻♂️
@dubiousdueler Besides the clear differences in breathing rate and complexity in the signals, pausing is entirely different between rodents and humans. Many people pause after exhales, rarely after inhales, while rodents tend to pause after inhales.
@micahgallen@visceral_mind @legrandni Awesome! I was initially going to write it in python (which I vastly prefer) but everyone I know in olfaction and respiration who codes uses Matlab. I’d be happy to help though!
@KahntLab Each area of POC has distinct and interesting functional connectivity patterns, possibly processing different features of odor information in parallel. They see several networks: odor-object coding, social/emotional, protective, a face/nose/jaw motor network(!), and more!
