@nochillnonge Dissociation- which is still a problem in itself. When I was using prescription meds it helped but it also came with feeling sad and I didn’t like that it had to be one or the other

Which means they don’t ride the same bus (if they ride the bus at all) and they def don’t get home at the same time. So an interaction between them is highly unlikely.
Eventually, I had to go back, and ended up in an exponentially worse cycle. Paying bills, family meals, taking the kids to school, paying their extra curriculars, and still trying to graduate myself. It was hell. And breaking out of that cycle and setting new boundaries was hard.
Acknowledging that the times I was made to feel like I had to step up as the oldest sibling nd care for my moms kids- nd sometimes my mom herself- was weaponized incompetence. I made excuses for everyone bc when I tried setting boundaries, their reasoning made me feel guilty.
I got kicked out when I was 15, bc her husband (ex) made her choose between him and me. And, well, she made her choice. But living with outside family was my biggest aha moment. I clearly saw how I was being abused and taken advantage of because another family wouldnt do it to me

These are necessary conversations to have to establish identity in the classroom. And I think that’s what most people are arguing abt
