@OfficialHuey Huey your radio show has been the highlight of my Saturdays for years now and I’m saddened to hear of you leaving. All I can say is thank-you for the music.
Mumford & Sons at BST Summertime tickets sold out before they even went on early release sale. This is for a concert in Hyde Park next summer with a capacity of around 65,000 people. The touts win again. Live music is dead. #ticketmaster
@JamesMelville I remember working at the BBC when our desk got a threatening letter claiming we hadn’t paid our TV licence — the idea of the BBC chasing a BBC desk for a TV licence was just ridiculous.
@EnfieldCouncil you’ve destroyed Palmers Green High Street. Can’t even stop at Sainsbury’s Local for dinner items — nowhere to stop or park. Miles of empty cycle lanes, no cyclists. No wonder shops are closing or turning into dodgy cafés and barbers.
If any of you remember playing the old text-based adventure games you should try inputting this into ChatGPT:
“Let's play a game, similar to the Hobbit text-based adventure game released by Melbourne House in the 80s, but with better syntax and better text inputs options for me.”
@EnfieldCouncil@TfL please look at the junction of Green Lanes, Hedge Lane & Bourne Hill. Turning right onto Hedge Lane is dangerous — cars from Bourne Hill speed through as the lights change. Feels like an accident waiting to happen.
Owning a Windows 11 PC in 2025:
Turn on → update → reboot → store update → reboot → BIOS update → reboot.
Then Office updates → re-login to everything.
Start work.
Midway, new updates drop, break OneDrive, force another reboot.
Switch off PC. Give up.
Hotel breakfast buffet question:
Croissant pile: do you use the tongs, or just grab the top one with your hands?
I only touched the one I ate, but another guest wasn’t pleased.
Who’s right here?

Work from home? Great. But why should your home-office get a free ride? Every other business pays rates, why not yours?
A provocative policy idea: tax home-working business rates to cut the deficit, push people back into offices and revive our city centres. #RemoteWork
Problems with @EnfieldCouncil voter registration form, the website, automated telephone line and sms service do not recognise the security code that came printed on the voter registration form. I had to call the helpline and actually speak with a member of staff to confirm. #vote
@London_W4 I remember seeing one in North London, parked illegally on a pavement photographing other cars parked allegedly illegally. One rule for them, one rule for us
Rewatching Arrival and it still bugs me: why didn’t they start with binary? You’re trying to communicate with obviously intelligent beings—wouldn’t on/off, 1s and 0s be the most basic, universal way in?
