@jakedudley That’s how I felt about Season 1 of Virgin River. Came back for season 2 about 6 months later and couldn’t make it 10 minutes in to the first episode. SO BAD. How did I love the first season so much? 😂
The Lord’s not playing. God help us if we are stupid enough to keep playing, politicking, deceiving, scheming, sheltering, manipulating, gas-lighting, exploiting, abusing & feigning innocency, doing everything under heaven in his name but actually submitting in humility to him.
@BT_Harman 100%. I’ve adopted a TV/Movie consumption habit that if I don’t feel better after watching it, then I don’t watch it. If I have a CHOICE to consume something delightful, I take it. Because the way of the informed is often the opposite of delight.
When you can say, “I trust you, Jesus” and actually believe it, something shifts. Believing in Him is one thing, the first thing. Trusting in Him is the key to the door for more.
This is so great. One of my faves: • “Separate the processes of creation from improving. You can’t write & edit, or make & analyze at the same time...While you write the first draft, don’t reflect. At the start, the creator mind must be unleashed from judgement.”
It’s my birthday. I’m 68. I feel like pulling up a rocking chair and dispensing advice to the young ‘uns. Here are 68 bits of unsolicited advice which I offer as my birthday present to all of you. https://t.co/ylgC9i1wfp
Daunte Wright should be alive today. His baby shouldn’t be fatherless. It’s time for Christians to step up to change America’s broken system. Talk and tweets aren’t enough.
Part of God’s plan for justice is that those who know Him would seek justice in and with their lives.
We got something for my 2 yr old from Amazon and it told us to look up the directions on YouTube. No written instructions. So often I get a “video update” that I would have much preferred to learn thru email. AM I THE ONLY ONE WHO DOESN’T WANT TO WATCH A VIDEO ABOUT EVERYTHING?
Has there ever been better news than the empty tomb?? Has there ever been a more glorious question than, “Why are you looking for the living among the dead?” Has there ever been a teaching we all wish we’d eavesdropped more than the one Jesus gave the two on the road to Emmaus?
Wish you were here! This selfie was taken in front of “Mont Mercou,” a rock formation that’s 20ft (6m) tall. It's made up of 60 images from my MAHLI camera and 11 images from my Mastcam. Look close enough to spot a new drill hole – my 30th sample to date. https://t.co/3U5ZVNyO2t
Things like this are impossibly hard to read, especially as a parent. But with awareness comes action, support, and prevention. I know that this kind of abuse is not just central to Kanakuk, but across Christian orgs everywhere. Lord, help us.

This violence against our Asian American neighbors is from the mouth of hell. Hate acts. It does not stay confined to the heart & mind. It incites the tongue. Untreated, it travels to hands & feet. Hate is murderous. (1Jn 3:15) Stand against it. Speak against it. Pray against it.
This morning I am reading James Baldwin. "People" he writes, "ought to love the Lord because they loved Him and not because they were afraid of going to Hell." When our faith is rooted in fear, it often fails at love. We see faith as wars to be won, not a world to be loved.
I’ve always tended to skim through the history books in the Old Testament (Joshua thru Esther) but have been inspired recently by @BethMooreLPM who can always find significance where I can’t. So this go round, I’m taking it slow. Only read the first chapter of 1 Kings yesterday..
We can certainly surround ourselves with ‘important’ people and make big shows of ourselves, but at the end of the day, it’s God who decides. And God chose Solomon, not Adonijah. And a worthy choice too. Solomon, as king, ultimately forgave his brother.
