Kalimpong councillor Barun Bhujel, a Gorkhaland supporter became a victim of TMC's atrocities. He died/was killed in police/jail custody.

After his death, naturally his younger brother Biren Bhujel had outraged on social media, which didn't sit well with the powers that be. He was hounded, forced to leave home. TMC administration filed multiple cases against him.

Naturally, he defied court orders to surrender fearing TMC police may do to him what they did to his brother. So they ordered attaching Biren's property. But since the house was in his father's name, they couldn't attach the house.

So in desperation, they attached Biren's room and whatever was in their.

Among other things, the police confiscated – one bed, one TV and one table.

This is perhaps the first time in the history of independent India, that one room inside a house had been attached by the courts.

As absurd as it may sound, this happened in November of 2018

This is why, the demand for separation of North Bengal and creation of a new state is so strong...

Every development in the past 80-years was concentrated in and around Kolkata...

There is not a single institute of National repute in North Bengal... it's not by accident, its by design.

North was always predominately inhibited by the Gorkhas, Rajbangshis, Adivasis, Rabha, Toto, Koche, Meche, Lepcha, Bhutia and other such tribes... even the Bengalis of North Bengal were and are treated as lesser...

We were always seen as "ora - the other"... that's why discrimination came naturally to those ruling from Kolkata.

The earlier one wakes up to this sad reality, the better it will be for everyone...

WELL DONE: A bridge named "Gorkhaland"

Indian Gorkha Janshakti Front Chief Ajoy Edwards today inaugurated a bridge named "Gorkhaland" over Tungsung Khola connecting Tungsung T.E to Dhotrey valley. Built by 16 local societies without government aid, the bridge symbolizes the will of the people, who fought against government obstruction to have the bridge constructed with help and support from Edwards Foundation and IGJF.

Edwards highlighted sacrifices in past Gorkhaland movements, calling it the "heartbeat" of Gorkha identity. He said he project proves people's power, "if united, Gorkhas can achieve anything".

Construction faced many attempts at sabotage, including police threats, supply blocks, and harassment of coordinators like Suraj Tamang. Despite "all means of coercion," residents completed it via voluntary labor, with Edwards supplying materials after please to GTA and the West Bengal government was ignored.

Edwards warned governments against further neglect, celebrating the bridge as a triumph of resilience.
