@coin_artist@claudeai That's awesome! I have been asked to revive the og video game cryptocurrency as a DAO. Just been mulling over how to pull it off lol. I hope to see more of your roblox game.
@VinnyLingham I agree although my opinion even back in 2014 was that btc would be a digital gold until it wasn't. Meaning while btc is volatile people would be smarter holding long-term. And then start buying coffee with btc when the price is more stable. Probably not until a 2m to 3m $btc
@adam3us@w_s_bitcoin So deciding to backtrack on bigger blocks so you could create a business that employed the majority of core devs and at the time raised 117 million dollars for a business that solely depended on a 2nd layer wasn't a coup?
@jgarzik@VinnyLingham Yes I said this exact thing back then. New people that got into bitcoin back then had a bad taste in their mouth with the high fee's. It really killed all momentum we had then. They literally choked off the main chain to put money in their pockets.

The subscriber page does not mention at all about limiting 720p videos. This is obviously misleading and false advertising. Now with your new model, it has brought a shit ton of slop and it is impossible to not run out and get good results.
@MichaelKWright2@w_s_bitcoin@rleder More like quality. Better quality more efficient things often cost more and take more technical expertise to operate. Using raspberry pi's and laptops to run a trillion dollar network is the equivalent to daily driving a 1972 pinto as an ambulance. It's stupid.
@MichaelKWright2@w_s_bitcoin@rleder He's clearly talking about both miners and network nodes. And he felt that once the network became large enough "users would be users". And people that could afford better more suitable hardware both for miners and network node to run a multi trillion dollar peer to peer network.
@MichaelKWright2@w_s_bitcoin@rleder I'm not talking in circles. It was clear from the start that regular users would stop running network nodes. Satoshi mentioned it several times. In that reply Satoshi mentioned both specialized hardware and a network nodes.
@MichaelKWright2@w_s_bitcoin@rleder "At first most users will use network nodes, but as the network grows beyond a certain point, it would be left more and more to specialists with server farms of specialized hardware. A server farm would only need one node on the network and the rest of the LAN connects with..."
