I've swapped my chair for a standing desk while programming , and the benefits are undeniable. Standing while working with computer has improved my posture, energy levels, and even my back pain is going away.
@mattdsegal I made an abstract Page model to change template's base file which seems much easier and allow passing other blocks such as `title`: https://t.co/4c1wLqXA1z
Couldn't see the #eclipse in my region but reminiscing about my homemade goggles made from broken floppy disks in the last one has me feeling all sorts of nostalgic ☀️
p.s. It's not safe. In those ancient times, we didn't have today's internet to check. floppy disk, remember
Just spent 6 frustrating hours working a specific data visualizations. Then took a break, deleted my code, and nailed it in 20 mins. Moral of the story: Sometimes you NEED to step back and clear your mind. 💡#Programming#DataScience
Or that, Game of Thrones is among 5 most loved titles, while it's episode “The Iron Throne” is among 5 most hated!

Just wrapped up an exhilarating dive into the IMDB Dataset!

@Geldner@RealJamesWoods Response to animal cruelty(if it's what's happening) is lawful retaliation+mental health care for INDIVIDUAL.
If your response to it is #KillThemAll and call to genocide, then you require even better mental health care+education in critical thinking, ethics, and Depropanization.
@LewisNWatson Imported my Notion into Obsidian and sync mobile and pc app using Github.
It's better than notion in every aspect and it's mobile version is actually usable.
A reminder that Elsevier made $10.5 BILLION in 2022 from selling your academic journals and articles behind paywalls, and make more profit than Amazon, Google, and Apple every year…
And paid the academics who wrote the articles $0
And paid the reviewers of the articles $0

except an unbiased ethical AI will consider not just malignant but actively malicious towards all things, especial themselves.
@fuelcut True, except if it's ethical and doesn't have humanities positive biases toward itself, it will surly consider humanity monstrous.
As a thought experiment imagine an alien race with conflicts and depravities seen in human history and society, and you will see them as true evil.
@fuelcut I was thinking in terms of how a judge may sentence a man to death whose actions were a result of his biological tendencies(e.g. Psychopathy), and how an AI may view and judge humanity and it's nature through the same lens.
My experience with Large Language Models so far shows that advanced enough non-symbolic #AI systems eventually becomes a symbolic AI, or is replaced in favor of better optimized and explainable systems.
Twitter is not a public town square no matter how many "commitments" to this or that the owner gives. Only a decentralized, open-source system can guarantee that.
The Peter Principle is the satirical theory that employees are generally promoted to their level of incompetence.
In 1974, the author of the Peter a principle, Dr. Laurence J. Peter, explained how he first got the idea and what can be done about it
@ahobby9 AI is not an independent discipline. Find other branches of science which you're both interested and knowledgeable, then find AI topics and applications that converge with them.
E.g. I study NLP for machine cognition which converges with linguistics, cog-sci, psych, formal logic.
