@kjdelay1 For me, it's a question of, am I physically "busy" with a lot to do or am I mentally "busy" with a lot to think about. I can handle the former, but the latter is taxing.
@kjdelay1@SPuro88 Just curious - are you pushing yourself to utilize that OR time that late bc it's an rvu production model or is the hospital pushing you, or are you doing it out of guilt for giving access to patients.
@kjdelay1 Curious what next available looks like at your system and for any of your followers - ours is about 3 months aside from constantly overbook triaging in urgent cancer related visits.
@sanjaybkulkarni Beautiful! Hope to visit again for a 10 year anniversary and learn from the best, my list time was in 2015 as a resident, and I learned so much in just a week.
Great webinar led by @raevti - a must listen for any senior residents or fellows. If you are a member of @SMSNA_ORG you can check it out on demand at any time. If you’re not a member - please join! It’s free for residents/fellows and there is a wealth of resources
@kjdelay1@gmorrissonmd@JnsHerrmann Fair but it's how one guy said it to me once and it's burned in my brain .. "you wanna filet my penis in open 'just to explore'????"
@gmorrissonmd@JnsHerrmann@kjdelay1 Oral boards writers can please come try to convince a guy in the ER you need to filet his penis open on history and exam alone
@JnsHerrmann@kjdelay1 Same here - we've made it a policy at our trauma center. I've seen an US miss a 180 degree b/l corporal tear.... Somehow. Ventral is the way!
Martin Gross and his team deserve serious kudos for this! Their article is INCREDIBLY important for prosthetic training.
KEY POINT: Resident training DOES add time to cases (~17 minutes) but DOES NOT increase complications.
The more surgeons we train, the more men we can treat!
@ltw1996@AshleyGWinter This is VERY IMPORTANT to spread the word about!! Guys are terrified it's going to be super painful, and if we can alleviate that worry it will only help the cause!
