Five new arrests for wilful promotion of hatred at a March 15th demonstration is an example of what we mean when we say that arrests and charges can come at any time after an incident. The Counter Terrorism and Security Unit executed multiple search warrants, viewed hours of footage, examined evidence, and worked with the office of the Attorney General to lay these serious charges.

Today, we announced two arrests and the seizure of $3.5 million worth of counterfeit sports merchandise as part of this investigation—the largest seizure of counterfeit soccer jerseys in Canadian history. These scammers were allegedly operating out of a warehouse in Mississauga, supplying products to retail stores.
With the FIFA World Cup less than two weeks away, this is a reminder to fans: be vigilant. Take a closer look before purchasing merchandise to support your favourite team—if a deal seems too good to be true, it likely is. And if you believe you’ve been a victim of fraud, contact police.

"If you are a corrupt police officer, I’d like you to quit. I'd like you to not wear this uniform, because you don't deserve to wear this uniform.” Chief @TPSMyronDemkiw has strong words on @MooreintheAM for members of the service after several incidents have stained the badge.
This Victoria Day long weekend, thank you to our TPS members working around the clock to keep our community safe. Your dedication does not go unnoticed.
