The housing answer was a net negative for Blakeman, but he's not playing to win the race; he's playing to win Long Island, Upstate, and the suburban parts of the outer boroughs, save Lawler and perhaps 1-2 other GOP incumbents from a wave, and prevent a Democratic supermajority in the State Senate, and for that, the housing answer is a probably a net positive .
