We wrote this in December and it's becoming more relevant with every market pump and CPI 'surprise'

Thrilled to share my recent conversation with @RogerHirst3 on @thelykeion podcast, where we discussed my perspective and reasons for my structural bullishness on the #US#Dollar.
Huge thanks to The Lykeion team and Roger for a fantastic discussion!

There's a banking crisis but $XLF is only down 7% YTD
There's a war with the 2nd largest nat gas producer in the world and NG1 is down 55% YTD
Interest rates rose at the fastest pace in history and $XLRE is only down 4% YTD
Are we excessively optimistic or drunk at the wheel?
We just launched The Lykeion Channel on YouTube

An evergreen tweet.
Let’s now add most of Silicon Valley to this list.
It only took a weekend to ‘solve’ this one but if you irresponsible students think you’re getting off the hook think again.
In it, Grant discusses some of the lessons he's learned from years of interviewing the brightest minds in markets, and how those discussions have helped form his framework for learning from others' mistakes, and how humility and flexibility are the cornerstones of his process.
The inaugural episode of 'The Ides of Macro' podcast with Roger Hirst (@RogerHirst3) is now live!
Our first guest is simply one of the best all-around thinkers out there (and an all-around great guy and friend) Grant Williams (@ttmygh).

We’ll be hosting a conversation with @JacobShap and @RogerHirst3 this afternoon.
It’s an open forum AMA. We’ll initially cover their latest Research piece on Japan, then see where the conversation takes us.

given the recent rebound in equities (driven primarily by central banks' perceived dovishness and the hyper-financialization of markets today – as opposed to a focus on fundamentals), the case for more downside continues to grow.

Is Korea confirming China's reopening? KOSPI200 up 1.5% today, breaking a neckline. BUT, it's only just started to outperform DAX. If China is really re-opening, KOSPI should do well. Could be a fake break. If Korea underperforms, China opening may disappoint
Our 2nd Research piece is now live!
@JacobShap & @RogerHirst3 tackle the two biggest forces driving markets: Russia/Ukraine & China's reopening, from both a Geopolitical & Macro lens
And we'll be hosting a Spaces AMA on Feb 6th to discuss, so stay tuned

Employment matters. The "deep recession/mild recession/no recession" case will probably come down to the strength of the US jobs market. Recessions cause job losses and job losses cause recessions, but every recession has seen a rapid rise in unemployment (3 charts) @thelykeion

We're just going to say it - @RogerHirst3's latest Macro Report is likely all you'll need to read on why markets are reacting the way they are today given the jobs report.
Read it, share it, shut off your feed, and go enjoy the weekend.

Cineworld ($CINE) (largest UK movie theatre chain) is likely to file for bankruptcy and $AMC is worth almost $5 billion
$CINE generates more cash and has less debt than $AMC
Let that sink in
Rates will continue to rise until this madness ends...
