Northeast Tennessee coverage on short and long range weather, 7-Day forecasts for the Tri-Cities, model discussion, etc. Snow is the best kind of weather.
North Carolina measurable snow occurrence during El Nino winters based on teleconnection phase (-/+)
These maps are available for 48 states on Snow Signal.
@RyanMorseWx We had measurable snow all the way down into the lower elevations of Northeast Tennessee. ร dusting I believe. Itโs our earliest measurable snowfall on record.

Ah! Tis' the season! The latest update is showing moderate color now showing up in some of the Tri-Cities. Our peak is usually the latter part of the month. Are you guys seeing fall color where you live?
@PaulRoundy1@judah47 Is this possibly due to the strong wave flux activity we see with strong El Ninoโs? Wonder if thatโs why the models indicate a weaker polar vortex mid and late winter.
Granted, if itโs in my backyard or even close by I might have a different opinion. But with early winter severe weather Iโm always watching it be in the Deep South and Plains and then we just get the crummy QLCS leftovers with a 30 mph wind gust and some rain in NE TN. So everything about it sucks for my location.
