@themacrotourist Love the theories, but it may be more mundane. As the price became increasingly volatile over the last few weeks, perhaps it was just an accounting and settlement nightmare. He did explicitly mention they had setup their own bitcoin node for processing
@Post_Market I’d also say the commoditization of the service by default (push a button get a car), made it very hard to differentiate through traditional means (user experience, speed, convenience) and reduced it to merely price and time (eta, which most users don’t perceive small gains)
@Post_Market That VCs are willing to fund a competitor in as long as they’re gaining CP (Lyft 2018, Didi via 99 taxi, Gojek after grab break out, etc). Unfortunately poor execution has prevented a player from finding a systemic way to break that pattern (subscriptions, bundled services, etc)
