Half London, half Irish, ☘️ Found myself here because I’m obsessed with independent media sources following years of being brainwashed by government propaganda.
The death of Ann Widdecombe is deeply distressing. I do not know the full circumstances or motivations, but it looks to be an act of appalling and wicked evil.
I am calling on Parliament and the Home Office to provide MPs who have received credible death threats receive proper state-funded security.
That absolutely includes Nigel Farage, Reform MPs and any other politician who has been threatened in a way that is beyond the usual social media insults.
I myself receive countless death threats, and arrests have been made because of those.
Personally, I have found Parliament’s response to be unacceptably relaxed about it all - it seems Reform feel the same. I agree.
I also believe that the temperature of political ‘debate' needs to be lowered. Of course there will be robust disagreement, and personal insults will inevitably be dragged into that, but too often, it’s too much.
In Britain, there is a line. Or at least there should be.
In the run up to the Makerfield by-election, the Daily Mail ran two front pages about Restore Britain in a row.
On the Sunday, they linked us to a ‘white supremacy’ summit.
On Monday, the headline labelled us as the home for ‘neo-nazis’, quoting somebody from Reform - Reform’s London Mayoral candidate also previously stated we were neo-nazi. Various other outrageous insults have been thrown at our party - from Reform, Green, Labour and other political figures.
This is not a healthy way of conducting political debate and it certainly fires people up in a reckless way.
But the point remains.
Any MP, from any party, who is subject to such foul abuse and threats should be protected by the state.
Britain is not the same country as it was 20 years ago, even 10.
There are a great number of very dangerous people living among us who want us dead.
Those who put themselves in serious harm’s way through engaging with the political process should receive proper security - I include Nigel Farage in that.
I will be looking to work with cross-party colleagues to implore the Home Office to reassess the current security arrangements for all MPs.
It needs to change.
I very rarely block anyone..
I've never reported anyone.
Dan Hodges needs to back off now...
Yes, freedom of speech is very important..
He's literally become a borderline stalker and appears somewhat deranged.
Give it a rest Dan.
The demonisation of Reform leaders -eg casually accusing them of “exploiting” Ann Widdecombe’s murder-has very real consequences for their safety. This could not be more serious. Please: just stop. It is NOT a game.
@Keir_Starmer Still haven’t said anything about Wayne Broadhurst though - or any other natives who experienced terrorism from the government’s third world pet project.
I have reported Dan Hodges to the police for harassment of @Nigel_Farage
Hodges has posted about Nigel Farage and Reform 52 times across approximately 43 posts and replies on X in just eight days. Many are direct quote-tweets and aggressive replies clearly targeting Farage personally.
A significant number of these posts accuse Farage and Reform MP's of politicising the murder of Ann Widdecombe, and repeated attacks on Nigel Farage’s security procedures and finances with personal derogatory comments, and appear to incite others against him and the party.
This sustained, highly targeted campaign goes far beyond the acceptable boundaries of legitimate journalism and constitutes obsessive online stalking, harassment and incitement.
Seeing the despicably cruel, heartless and abusive way that many people in UK and US have responded to the deaths of conservative politicians, Ann Widdecombe and Lindsey Graham, reminds me that the least kind people on earth are ironically those on the #BeKind woke left.
So a bloke drives 300 miles from Rotherham in the day bringing with him a foot long pole which was used to murder a famous politician in her remote Dartmoor home and yet police say there’s no political link.
What, pray, do they believe was the motive? There are 650 MPs who have a very vested interest in finding out.
A 28 year old man from Rotherham has been arrested for the murder of Ann Widdecombe.
Rotherham?
The place grooming gangs were covered up for more than a decade.
We all know what happens next.
So some random guy drove 250 miles to a small village to murder Ann Widdecombe for no apparent reason, stole nothing, and then went home. Case closed. Okay then.
Sorry, I’m a little lost here. Why would someone from South Yorkshire end up at a specific property in Dartmoor 270+ miles away by sheer coincidence? But they seem to tell us with absolute certainty that there’s no political motivation.
@SkyNews ..
A complaint !
@adamboultonTABB ‘s report on the death of Ann Widdicombe today ..
has to be one of the most crass, disrespectful reports I’ve heard on anyone in politics ..
The fact this is also a Police investigation makes it even worse.
To repeat personal stories about her; and using phraseology such as an ‘ old maid’
and more ..
She was a very clever, intellectual, conviction politician who had more decency in her than most people I’ve ever met.
She was kind and thoughtful and would never hold a grudge with anyone when differing views were held ..
This is an outrageous slur on her character and reputation..
and I hope you’re damn well sacked !!
The fake outrage at the cost of the Clacton by-election is hilarious…
Andy Burnham abandoning the Greater Manchester Mayor position and causing a by-election… AND triggering a new Mayoral election, will add up to £4-5 million.
Clacton by-election approximately £250k all in.
*Reform have also offered to reimburse the Treasury after the by-election if allowed somehow.
I’ll happily discuss Nigel Farage triggering a by-election.
Right after we’ve discussed Andy Burnham triggering an MP by-election and then a mayoral by-election.
I’m just trying to establish whether taxpayer-funded elections are always a scandal, or only when Nigel Farage is involved.
The hypocrisy is deafening.
