@tedfrank But what if you’re in a publicly-accessible place carrying concealed, and your pump sprayer magazine holds less than 10 roundups? Mahalo, brah.
@rkylesmith Think of it like Al Capone being arrested for tax evasion.
Or that JPMCB lady getting fired for stealing the trash can.
“It’s this.” But it ain’t that.
Sure!
AMEX Blue Cash earns 6% on grocery (minus annual fee puts it at around net 5%.)
Stack that with, say, a Meijer promo for 10% back in MPerks points on gift card purchases (code as grocery) — that gets you to 15%.
Every once in a while Meijer gives 15% back (7500 pts on $50 gift card buy). Sometimes it’s on any cards; sometimes on One4All cards which convert to Gap/OldNavy. Stack with AMEX gets you to 20%.
Kroger has occasional 200 fuel point deals for specific cards. 200 pts is worth $7. So on a $25 card, that’s 28%, plus 5% AMEX stack.
Granted, these numbers only work if you consider grocery points to be fully fungible. Which is a good assumption if you shop at Meijer or use Kroger gas stations anyway. Since SLOTUS is from SW Ohio, I’m sure she has graced the self-checkout lane of a Kroger or Meijer a time or two.
Even better is if Chase credit card offers 10% back at Kroger (up to $90 purchase, usually). Use it to buy $25 cards with 200 Kroger fuel point deals… that gets you to 38%.
Often you can redeem credit card points (CapOne Venture, Discover, etc) for discounted cards… can often find 15% off on One4All cards that swap to Lowes/Gap/Macy’s/etc.
Those are the ways I know of… I’m sure there are others.
In 1935, the life expectancy of an 18-year old was 69. So after working 47 years, an average person would receive 4 years of full SS payments (65 to 69).
Presently, life expectancy of an 18-year old is 79. So an adult will work 49 years and get 12 years of SS (67 to 79).
290% increase in number of payments/months worked
@SLOTUS You can get Old Navy gift cards for 15-20% off if you use promos and cashback credit cards.
You might have left $1.75 on the table during your “price is no object” luxury online spending spree.
$1.75 !!!
Were he to donate money to “Direct Relief” or “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital” in her name, wouldn’t that better lift up others around him?
I’m sure she’d be super happy with that, and would probably decline the “in her name” part because she’s a super noble person, and totally not an attention-seeking ingrate.

@Heminator@exjon You’re probably right.
But as an IE SoCal guy, I’d rate SDRE’s obscureness to be 1.054 Camper Van Beethovens.
Or in metric units, 0.48 Drink The Seas.
