Art on Bitcoin is a cornerstone of the crypto movement.
Today I'm excited to announce the donation of a full set of Ordinal Maxi Biz (OMB) to the permanent collection of Toledo Museum of Art.
Grazie @ToledoMuseum, @ZK_shark and @ohareyoufat for your creative vision.
Bitcoin and Ordinals will live forever.

Got a message asking me why I am overexposed to @OrdinalMaxiBiz and decided to share my answer. Here it goes:
Hi XXX…..there’s basically several reasons. I am not a trader. But to me this is my collector’s perspective. And to be clear I buy what I really like.
Reasons:
- I was early. I resonated with @ohareyoufat ’s history, messaging and art since the first tweet. Resonates with me and my personal taste/story etc… so being early I could mint green eyes, orange eyes and black eyes. I held them all until now and I bought a som more. Cheaper than for many, and an opportunity for me to be a big holder in something I really love.
- Bitcoin and ordinals - for a long time I love Bitcoin. Ordinals to me is a breakthrough for storing art, documents and many things that can be a byproduct of this protocol (DeFi for example). I think the idea of Bitcoin being more and more accepted/adopted and dominant, gives a great future to anything bitcoin. I don’t know the time it will take, but this is money I don’t need for my day to daily life. So it’s a bet on this.
- Art and uniqueness - To me OMB is an almost unique concept. Nothing is similar but ZMB in Sol. So the fact that in the early days of ordinals, one artist made 9k hand drawn pieces is totally slept on. Add the messaging in the art, and to me it should be one of the top pfp collectibles in any chain given enough time. Again, this is a bet on ordinals, which to me, if they grow as I expect, should make the top collections something really special.
- Inscription dates/sats used for inscribing etc…I think that aside from the art, zK delivered a really amazing lesson on how to use sats as a canvas. What I mean is that OMB was the first pfp on Block78 sats (blue eyes), first pfp on Block 9 sats (green eyes)…and the inscription dates of orange eyes (superbowl) and black (Trump inaguration/Ross release). To me that makes it even more special, as each step was done with and purpose, not simply inscribed randomly.
-Until this point, OMB is good enough from my view to become an historical collection only by what’s onchain (art, sats, dates…), but then there’s the zK factor which can be a cherry on top.
Whether @ZK_shark does anything (insert speculation) or disappears, the collection is a masterpiece as is.
Because remember, founders will be irrelevant at some point, but art on-chain is forever.
@The0xJuan Imagine being pro-#Bitcoin ... but being against Ordinals ... or not supporting them...🤣
Yeah... we wouldn't those miners to actually "succeed" and prosper...🙄
lots of eyes on ordinals today, i wonder why
over 60 btc in volume in ordinals which is way more than any other jpeg ecosystem
if you’re staring at the price action but Taproot Wizards are out of your price range, here are some other awesome ordinals:
Bitcoin Puppets: i’m a big believer that bitcoin and ordinals are best fitted for high ticket price items, but puppets proved you can start with a very cheap (virtually free) mint and end up with a high-value cultural item with crazy brand recognition. puppets holders are some of the craziest mfers out there, and the art is just fun
Nodemonkes: early inscription numbers, mysterious and controversial founder, original pixel art, massive mint, and just enough fud to enter the history books. the nodes probably onboarded more people to ordinals than any other collection. i don’t think ordinals can have a future without them
OMB: can you think of another collection with 9,000 pieces that are all 1 of 1 hand drawn? OMB is special and there just isn’t anything else like it. recently the community celebrated a big win with a big mint that went fantastic against all trolls, and many consider OMB to be the face of ordinals
Fine art: ordinals on bitcoin are immortalized onchain and are a great fit for high end fine art. one of my favorites in this category is “The Astronomer’s Daughter” by @POSTWOOK but tbh there are many others, and we plan to work with more artists to bring their work to ordinals. it’s the most natural place to put your high-end art vault in, and there’s tons of works on bitcoin that are really special
also: i’m biased but one of my favorite collections is Quantum Cats, obviously, but that’s a story for another day :)
welcome to ordinals, anon
🔥
When are you picking up some Ordinals on the motherchain?... (you know the one... the chain with the dwindling finite supply that dominates 3.5/4 years every cycle.).
or have you been already ? 🤔
It seems like you would already know that luxury art all ends up on Bitcoin eventually...
