It’s 2010 the Samsung Galaxy S1 just came out and I bought it my first smartphone. I’m texting my crush back and forth with regular SMS. No WhatsApp yet. Stuff like “Why’s she taking so long to reply? She was online, did she leave me on read? What should I say next?” doesn’t even exist.I’m working construction, everybody on the job site knows each other. The day flies by cracking jokes while still getting the work done. Nobody’s got social anxiety, people actually keep eye contact. No “Yo, you seen this video?” just real conversations. No bragging either, since we all make about the same money. In the evening I go on a date with my crush. We just sit on a bench with a Capri Sun and talk. On the train ride home I play Angry Birds on my phone, get home, crash into bed, and fall asleep right away, ready to do the exact same thing tomorrow.
What a time to be alive.
