this isn't a coding agent. this is THE general agent. one agent that does everything. local models. frontier models. autonomous goals. memory. tools. no bloat. no telemetry. no corporate leash. just pure agency.

if you are running local ai or thinking to start, if i could give you one single piece of advice it is this: choose your agentic harness carefully. it matters more than the model.

i have lost count of how many people have dm'd me saying their local model is "dumb" or "broken" or "not as good as the cloud one." then they switch from openclaw or some other bloated framework to hermes agent and the same model suddenly works. just clean tool calls and the agent doing the thing it was supposed to do.

hermes agent is the best general purpose agent i have used in 2026. drives my single 3090 with qwen 3.6 27b dense q4, drives my dgx spark with nemotron omni q8, and the same harness handles coding, research, video editing, automation, anything you point it at. packed with skills out of the box (browser tools, code, github, jupyter, multimodal, more than i have used yet), full tool calling that holds across long sessions, persistent memory, sub agents.

if you tried local ai once or twice and gave up because it felt half baked, the issue might not have been the model. it might have been the harness wrapping it. swap the harness, run the same model again, and watch what changes.

hermes agent is the one i recommend to everyone running local. and especially to anyone who almost gave up on it.

last time the openclaw founder said open models aren't there yet. now he's saying local models on consumer hardware are the issue.

this is not someone who cares about open source speaking. this is someone with a corporate paycheck channeling you toward their subscription because every local AI install is a subscription they lose.

he picked a year old hermes model against a new agent harness and called it not ready. that didn't come from proper testing. it came from watching nousresearch grow exponentially while his project bleeds relevance.

a founder who left his project without seeing its full potential is arguing with a founder who is still grinding day and night for open source. nousresearch is open source head to toe. the models, the harness, the memory system, everything. and it's winning. that's what panics them.

while corporate salesmen say local models on consumer hardware aren't there, i just published an article where 27B dense on a $900 consumer GPU one-shotted a task that 120B on $70K enterprise hardware could not complete in 3 tries. through hermes agent. every number is in the article.

you decide which side you want to be on. the side that mines every bit of your thinking and profits off it. or the side where you own your compute and your cognition.

We are Afrikaans, English, Portuguese, French, Dutch, German and more, each thread adding depth to South Africa’s mosaic. To be proud does not mean to exclude or diminish others; it means recognizing our worth in the collective tapestry of this nation.

Let us honor our achievements: the farmers who feed our people, the artists who inspire, the entrepreneurs who drive progress. Let us teach our children to hold their heads high, to know their roots, and to contribute meaningfully. Shame has no place in our hearts when we strive for unity and understanding. As white South Africans, we are not just part of the past; we are architects of the future.

SA government charged with UN agency over breach of race settlement

Solidarity has filed an urgent complaint with a United Nations (UN) agency regarding the South African government’s breach of the terms of its agreement with Solidarity on race laws.

This race law settlement was reached in June 2023 under the supervision of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and was further ratified by a court order in October of that year.

Solidarity has already charged the Minister of Labour and Employment, Nomakhosazana Meth, with contempt of court in relation to the court order, but will now also request intervention from the ILO to ensure that the settlement is honoured.

This follows Minister Meth’s publication of employment equity regulations and associated sectoral targets or workplace quotas in the Government Gazette in April this year. Solidarity argues that the publication of these regulations and sectoral targets in April 2025 contradicts the 2023 settlement, as it fails to reflect, among other things, that:

• affirmative action must be implemented in a nuanced manner;
• various factors other than race must be taken into account in employment equity plans; and
• no retrenchments may occur as a result of affirmative action.

According to Anton van der Bijl, Solidarity’s deputy chief executive, the government’s actions are reprehensible.

“Our authorities always have a lot to say about the abuse of human rights while they themselves are guilty of it. Now, even expecting the government to respect signed international treaties, and the settlements concluded under them, is too much to ask.

“We call on the ILO to urgently intervene in the racial abuses taking place in South Africa,” says Van der Bijl.

This marks the next step in Solidarity’s campaign against the race madness of the South African government. Solidarity recently announced the establishment of a R7 million legal fund aimed at intensifying pressure – both locally and internationally – to bring an end to the current racial dispensation that is bringing South Africa and all South Africans to their knees.

This is especially important in a year when the eyes of the world are on South Africa as it prepares to host the G20 Summit in November.
