@NERTinc@ScottMorrisonMP I'd like to see where there is a tax return show a profit from a rail trail, I reckon there wouldn't be one anywhere. Railways would have for economic benefit to the region than a rail trail any day.
@aileen2365 Not likely. A operational railway is worth alot more than a bike track. Why is it that NERT will not compromise and change there proposal to rail with trail which would benefit the community more that just a trail. Ratepayers will foot the bill for maintenance with out a doubt.
@ArmidaleExpress previous studies been highly flawed and more holes than a sif, I highly doubt this one does either. Why is the proponent unwilling to change proposal to a rail with trail which will benefit the region more than ripping up a railway for a rail trail that isn't highly supported.
It is with sadness that NRRAG wish to inform everyone that we lost one of our most active and loved members recently. Below is the link to our Facebook post.

@RailTrailsAus More like one step closer to denieing the people of the Northern rivers region the chance of ever having rail services returning. Majority want rail services returned not a ridiculous bike track.
@NERTinc 1000 per month yeah right, how are those figures collated by counters that can be easily manipulated. Where's the direct proof that the bike track is responsible for increased business?
@stuartayresmp@WendyTuckerman The local community dont want their railway ripped up for a bike path for a few yuppies from city! Ratepayers are the ones that pay the bills, so no thanks!! Take your white elephant elsewhere!!
@stuartayresmp@WendyTuckerman Rail trails are a ridiculous waste of money and resources. They are just a burden on ratepayers and never make a return on the costs imposed! A State financed Rail service is needed not a financial black hole for ratepayers!
@BicycleNSW@NERTinc Looks more like a well staged photo for promo use than anything else. I not that the track in the background still sits there not ripped up.
@aiGOODtime @ArmidaleExpress@ARC2350@davidjmills67@northerninland Not suprised, hard to believe anything from NERT time after time are exposed for what they are. We all know @ARC2350 & Glen Innes Severn Council have been sold a pup. Majority want trains north of Armidale not a ridiculous bike track. Rail = better economy for all in region.
@TweedCouncil What a joke, this council needs the sack. Clearly majority want rail services reinstated on the casino murwillumbah railway and have it extended to the Gold Coast. This region would benefit more with rail services not a rail trail that will be a economic drain on the region.
Save the tracks. Let's have trains on the Casino to Murwillumbah Railway line. Send a message to our politicians. - Sign the Petition! https://t.co/KcEul1zBAD via @ChangeAUS
