We're so far up north noone ever thinks about us but we're struggling with damaged roads, accidents, pollution, bushfires and floods. We need trains running again. It's not that hard only the government makes it sound so.
@johaylen @StopRTs @NSWLabor@LiberalNSW@RealMarkLatham@AbigailBoydMLC@PaulTooleMP Majority of people in the Northern rivers want rail services back not a rail trail, why rip up the tracks or even close the rail corridor. We can have both without formal closure of our railway. See below.
@Jetstragic @TweedCouncil @ByronShire Not opposed to rail w/ trail & never have been line doesn't need 2be rebuilt. Corridor already protected but your obsession with building rail trail this protection will be taken away & the corridor gone for good. We suggest that its the rail trail tragics that are obsessed.
@Holly60394163 @NERTinc Our aim is to advocate for the retention of the railway and the current legislation that protects the entire rail corridor. Not to raise money for the restoration of rolling stock.
@Jetstragic @TweedCouncil @ByronShire Clearly your logic isn't the same as ours, a rail with trail or just reinstating rail services is the best economic outcome not rip it up for just a bike track.
@ArmidaleExpress There is no overwhelming community support for this proposal and it will end up a burden to ratepayers to maintain and a economic drain on people in the New England region. It's very clear that majority want rail services reinstated north of Armidale and not a rail trail.
@NewEngTrains@ArmidaleExpress@NERTinc That's very selfish indeed, Why not have both rail and trail which would be a win win for everyone and the region.
@ArmidaleExpress It's very clear that majority want rail services reinstated & not a rail trail. We believe a compromise of a rail with trail concept was offered but selfishly rejected by @NERTinc who persist with a proposal that only a minority want. #rail#trains#nswpol#auspoI
@NERTinc Why do you want the railway formally closed when there is no need to. Why not change your proposal to a rail with trail concept. Its clear from the polls and surveys that majority want to see trains returned. Just look at Oberon as the path runs next to the railway.
