Something else I learned in this class that is going to stick with me, is how sensitive they are to temperature change. I learned that with just a 1.5 degree increase in climate, some species of songbirds could be wiped out of an area.

I also learned a lot about dog behavior in my studies! Especially, when I came across some interesting findings about facial expressions in dogs... they might not always be communicating what we think! #39canimals

Before this course, I thought I knew what close reading was, but I quickly found out that I was mistaken and learned some awesome new techniques. #39canimals

I learned that looking at other people’s writing works and mistakes helps me improve my writing.
Seeing other people’s mistakes causes me to reflect on my writing so I don’t commit the same mistakes.

Before this class, I had no previous knowledge of the importance of clean drinking water for our furry friends and the legislation in place that they depend on to stay healthy and away from gastrointestinal parasites. #WhatIlearnedinWR60

I’ve learned many things in Writing 60 including a plethora of information about hardships that dogs face. This was such an amazing experience, as I knew little about dogs before coming to the class and never grew up with a household dog.  #WhatIlearnedinWR60

My advocacy project calls my audience to action by explaining different routes of advocacy through social media, which is one of the easiest ways to communicate a message to a vast group of individuals! #39canimals

There are many ways to tackle an issue you're passionate about (i.e. advocating for the proper conditions of dog shelters or environmentalism). It's necessary to think through a global and grassroots framework to assess actions that are possible for you to engage in. #39canimals

Dogs in shelters should be routinely checked for gastrointestinal disease to prevent spread and ensure the safety of other dogs in the shelter as well as workers. #39canimals

Did you know that out of feeling compassion for our homeless furry friends, we sometimes force them into situations that may be counterproductive to ensuring their well-being? Always consider the conditions of dog shelters near you. #39canimals
