Mother and son crying in my clinic. After 11 years battling her son’s health, seeing him suffer every day, ‘someone is finally listening and explaining things’, ‘someone cares about his quality of life’. I hear this a lot, and it is deeply concerning. #npessential#npdifference
A few states adding NPs as existing NIP providers to their free flu vaccine programs, but Victoria is still flatly refusing, the State with the most NPs. @MarkStaaf2@anmfvic @MartinFoleyMP @SaferCareVic@DanielAndrewsMP
As a Nurse Practitioner unconscionably sidelined by the former Fed Govt during the COVID pandemic, I refuse to now be sidelined by my State Govt in relation to flu vaccines. Can’t believe you followed them. Devastated. But you CAN fix it @MartinFoleyMP @DanielAndrewsMP
Shocked to hear that NPS Medicinewise was defunded in the Liberal Budget on Tuesday. Over $1.1 billion in savings to the PBS and MBS, responsible for reducing countless medication harms and errors, and providing education to prescribers and consumers on medicines since 1998.
My LGA has one of the lowest COVID vax rates in AU. I have vaccine fridge, am qualified, a prescriber, 25 years experience, not allowed to help unless I leave my local area/my business. Patients & staff in my clinic waiting 6 weeks for vax appts elsewhere #Hume@MariaVamvakinou
Aussie NPs earn 64% of what NZ NPs earn in the public sector. Primary Care NPs in NZ have pay parity with GPs because of the evidence that AU chooses to ignore, here we earn less than 50%. We pay ~$50k for a Masters on top of a Bachelor Degree and Grad Dip. Theirs is funded. 1/2
