I am honored to be recognized again in the Stanford–Elsevier Global Ranking Report (2025) as one of the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide.

This year, I am ranked 89th out of 30,588 scholars (top 0.29%) in my primary subfield of Logistics & Transportation. I am grateful to have been included in this prestigious list for five consecutive years (2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) in single-year impact category, and two consecutive years (2024, 2025) in the career-long impact category.

My heartfelt congratulations to all fellow researchers who are also featured in this year’s ranking. In particular, I am proud to share that several of my colleagues in the Department of Geography and Resource Management 地理與資源管理學系 at The Chinese University of Hong Kong are on the list this year — a record-breaking number that speaks to our department’s growing international visibility and impact.

Our research team's latest article: "Using mobile phone data to capture residential segregation and its association with travel mobility" has been published in Population, Space and Place.

Here are some highlights of this paper:

·       Used mobile phone big data to identify residential segregation, marking a significant innovation in studying urban studies and urban geography.

·       Leveraged mobile phone data to study travel mobility, building on prior research from "An investigation into the impact of the built environment on the travel mobility gap using mobile phone data" (Journal of Transport Geography).

·       Analyzed segregation based on income level and migrant status, and its effects on travel frequency, activity space, and travel distance.

·       Discovered that residential segregation is especially adverse for the travel mobility of disadvantaged groups (low- and middle-income groups and certain migrants) and those living in the suburbs.

·       Suggests policies to improve mobility by addressing segregation, especially for disadvantaged groups in suburban areas.
