@dhewlett If you're trying to reach an "audience" because you are selling something then twitter has it's uses.
But if you are just a "user" after intelligent discourse without spam, Mastodon, Discord or others seem a better choice.

Honestly the fact they don't mess with the timeline, and you can join any server you like, move without friction & it's decentralised like your finances should be, well...
