Yakumo ends up beating Ryu, is now a Master Ninja and gets the Dark Dragon Blade.

Yakumo also gets Gleam Form (apparently?)

Personally instead of ditching history (Ryu's nes games help pioneer story telling in gaming) we should honor it and try to do the character justice by giving him one.
