Obeying hadith is logically not wrong, as it never contradicts Quran. Technically I can't do wrong by following Hadith as long as it doesn't contradict Quran!

Quran is authority for me. Hadith enhance my understanding and teaches me more details on how to correctly worship Allah.

In Islam you have whole chains from the Hadith up to Messenger, authentic with Sanad, i.e. written testimonies of eye witnesses.
