#edl763 Pay adjuncts a living wage. More full-time non-tenure track positions are needed. Not saying to get rid of tenure, but there are just too many adjuncts.

#edl763 Definitely agree professors shouldn't profit using their textbooks in classes they teach. I view this as a bit bias. It does not provide any counterarguments in the class. CMU will no longer use school specific text for its MSA program. Now student can buy book any where.

#eld763. Instead of worrying about whether decision are made too fast or slow, we should be talking about strategic change. Are people really looking at the data? What about best practices? We all know change needs to happen, who is going to a brave enough?

How many instructions actually practice shared governance? It seems to me that some parties hold more weight than others. After looking at why things take so long in higher ed, it seems this would be a solution to getting things done, if done correctly. #edl763

@HumistonJon #edl763 With my topic why it takes so long for things to change in higher ed, I always new faculty had lots of pull when making decisions, but I did not understand the reasons for the resistance. Very enlighten.

#EDL763 I remember trying to make the switch from adjunct to finding a full-time job outside of teaching. The article is right on. That first semester is tough, and I could not teach, but once I started working, I was able to pick up a few classes.

@EHooper17 Looking over adjunct positions on the web, I can see where the doctorate can led to more teaching opportunities, what I'm not sure about yet if that means more money. The life of an adjunct can be hard. #edl763
