No employee should lose their livelihood without due process. If the concerns raised in this representation deserve an independent investigation and a transparent response from the authorities. Silence only deepens the suffering of affected families.

Significant development.
Concerns relating to ICICI Bank have now reportedly been raised before three separate authorities @RBI, @India_NHRC, and the @LabourMinistry /Chief Labour Commissioner.
Regardless of the eventual findings, the fact that these issues are being examined through formal legal representations highlights the importance of employee welfare, labour rights, corporate governance, and workplace accountability in India's private banking sector.
@INCIndia@pbhushan1@RahulGandhi@subratapanda #ICICIBank #LabourRights #EmployeeRights #CorporateGovernance #WorkplaceAccountability
The growing involvement of multiple statutory authorities indicates that the concerns being raised extend beyond individual employment disputes and may warrant broader institutional examination. The focus now should be on an impartial inquiry, due process, and ensuring accountability wherever necessary.

🚨 Third representation. Third statutory forum. | @ICICIBank
After approaching the @RBI and @India_NHRC, senior advocate @pbhushan1 has now moved the @LabourMinistry & Employment and the Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) over allegations relating to @ICICIBank's employment practices.
The representation reportedly seeks an inquiry into alleged mass terminations, unfair labour practices, retaliatory transfers, employee harassment, whistleblower victimisation, and labour law violations, while also calling for broader reforms and employee safeguards.
The issue has now expanded from corporate governance concerns to labour rights, human rights, workplace accountability, and regulatory oversight.
Will India's institutions undertake a deeper examination of these concerns?

@pnbindia employees are reportedly being forced to stay in branches until 9 PM or even 10 PM due to CKYCR-linked day-end checks.
Employees argue they are being held accountable for factors beyond their control, including customer actions and massive compliance backlogs, while branches continue to face staff shortages.
Can sustainable banking growth be achieved by extending employee working hours instead of addressing manpower gaps?

Allegations of Workplace Harassment, Excessive Surveillance, Gender Discrimination and Miscarriage at @MyIndianBank | Nagpur
I came across a video statement released by a female Chief Manager of Indian Bank posted at the Nagpur Zonal Office, and the allegations made are deeply concerning.
According to her statement, she has been facing continuous harassment by a senior official for nearly a year despite repeatedly raising concerns with higher authorities.
She alleges that she was subjected to extraordinary surveillance through office CCTV cameras, where her workstation was allegedly monitored by zooming in to track her movements, interactions, files being handled, time spent at her desk, and even the people she spoke with during the day.
She further states that she was repeatedly questioned about customers, staff members, Chartered Accountants, and visitors who met her, including details of their conversations and the duration of meetings.
According to her, she was frequently humiliated in front of colleagues, subordinates, and outsiders, and was repeatedly labelled as someone who merely "pretends to work" despite carrying out her responsibilities.
She alleges that leave approvals became difficult and that she was compelled to disclose highly personal medical information, including menstrual health details, before leave requests would be considered.
The officer also claims that comments were made regarding her clothes, appearance, nail polish, and personal grooming, which she viewed as inappropriate and unrelated to her professional responsibilities.
A serious concern raised in the video is her allegation that she was treated differently from male Chief Managers in the same office and was subjected to a level of scrutiny and control not imposed on her male counterparts.
She further alleges that she was excluded from important meetings, discussions, and departmental communications, adversely affecting her professional image and role within the organisation.
According to her statement, she was regularly contacted after office hours, received late-night messages, and was asked to provide details of her calls and communications.
Most notably, she alleges that despite informing the concerned official about her pregnancy, the pressure and harassment continued. She states that the resulting stress severely affected her mental health, led to depression, and ultimately contributed to a miscarriage during her pregnancy.
The employee claims that she repeatedly approached senior management seeking intervention but did not receive any effective relief.
She further states that she possesses documentary and electronic evidence supporting her allegations and decided to speak publicly after losing faith in the internal grievance process.
If these allegations are found to be true after an independent and impartial investigation, they raise serious questions regarding employee privacy, workplace dignity, gender sensitivity, managerial accountability, misuse of surveillance mechanisms, and the effectiveness of internal complaint redressal systems in the banking sector.
No employee should have to choose between their dignity, health, and career.
@MyIndianBank
Leave is not a privilege. Leave is not an act of charity from management. Leave is an employee's legitimate right.
When an employee plans personal commitments, family responsibilities, medical needs, or important life events based on an approved leave, reversing that approval without justification is not merely an administrative issue—it is a breach of trust.
The recent experience shared by a @AxisBank employee raises a fundamental question:
If approvals granted through the official process can be arbitrarily overturned later, what value do policies actually hold?
Employees should not have to beg, plead, or feel grateful for exercising a right that is already provided under company policy. Respect for employees begins with respecting their time, commitments, and dignity.
Banks expect discipline, accountability, and compliance from employees. Employees have every right to expect transparency, consistency, and accountability from HR and management in return.
A healthy workplace is not defined by its policies on paper, but by how fairly those policies are implemented.
Leave is a right. Dignity is a right. Respect is a right.

Salary is not a favour. It is a legal and moral obligation.
Today, I came across a post from an employee of @IIFL_Finance claiming that his salary for an entire month has been withheld without prior notice, written communication, or any explanation.
Whether the allegations are ultimately proven or not, one question remains:
How can an employee be expected to continue working when the employer fails to communicate why his earned wages are being withheld?
Across the banking, NBFC and financial services sector, stories of employees facing salary holds, forced resignations, arbitrary performance actions, workplace harassment and denial of basic employment rights are becoming increasingly common.
Employees are expected to meet targets, work beyond office hours, remain available on holidays and deliver results under immense pressure. Yet when it comes to paying wages on time, many organizations suddenly become silent.
A delayed salary is not merely a payroll issue.
It affects rent payments. It affects EMIs. It affects families. It affects dignity.
No employee should have to publicly plead for the release of wages earned through honest work.
If there is a dispute, communicate it. If there is an issue, document it. If there is a policy violation, follow due process.
But withholding an employee's livelihood without transparency cannot become an accepted workplace practice.
The financial sector often speaks about governance, ethics and compliance. Those principles must begin with how employees are treated.
Respect for employees is not measured by corporate slogans. It is measured by actions when an employee raises a grievance.

@IIFL_Finance, withholding an employee’s full month’s salary without any notice, communication, or reason is not just poor HR practice — it’s a violation of basic dignity and the law.
You expect employees to chase targets, work late, and be available on holidays. But when it’s time to pay them for that labour, you go silent?
A delayed salary means defaulted EMIs, unpaid rent, and a family put at risk. That’s not a “payroll issue” — it’s institutional cruelty.
If there’s a dispute, communicate it. If there’s a violation, follow due process. But silent withholding of earned wages is nothing short of coercion.
The financial sector loves to talk about governance and ethics. It starts with paying people on time and treating them with basic respect.
@RBI@nsitharaman@PMOIndia@FinMinIndia — this isn’t a one-off. It’s a pattern in NBFCs. Where’s the accountability?
