“Manchester City Found Out.”
City had been secretly funnelling money through directors' accounts to make illegal payments, circumvent financial rules and gain a sporting advantage. The FA found they had “for years systematically broken the rules... by very unscrupulous means.” The Guardian
120 years later, Manchester City are engulfed in another historic financial scandal.
Different century.
Different owners.
Different rules.
Manchester City Found Out. Again.
🚨 When joining Man United, Omar Berrada gave absolute assurance to Ratcliffe and the Glazers that he never engaged in any wrongdoing involving Man City's charges. At the time, he was also of the view that they, as a club, were innocent of said charges. [@lauriewhitwell] #mufc
Just a reminder for anyone interested in Abu Dhabi in Manchester. We conducted a forensic investigation into the deal with a range of findings that seem more relevant than ever....land deals, tax payments, offshore companies + 'sweetheart deals'

Fuck those clubs. And if United’s one of them which I can only guess it is. Fucke them too. This is about what’s right not money. We just want to see good, clean football
🚨 Some clubs are in favour of Manchester City being relegated. However, other clubs feel that City being relegated would be DETRIMENTAL to the Premier League, with the loss of commercial revenue that would occur. [@JacobsBen@UnitedStandMUFC] #mufc
#MCFC have been accused of potentially avoiding paying about £12m in income tax and national insurance in relation to Roberto Mancini’s salary, according to new claims published on Thursday

Andy Burnham's intervention in the Manchester City affair was inappropriate, injudicious and badly, badly misjudged. It felt like a nod to the power of nation state ownership of English football clubs. It felt as if the Establishment was going in to bat for its buddies.
Executives from two top PL clubs said they would be “staggered if there were 15 clubs ready to expel Man City from the Premier League”, calling it “commercial suicide”
One executive said: “If Man City were expelled, that would have massive commercial consequences for everyone in the league, and ultimately it would cost the other clubs an awful lot of money,” [@RobDorsettSky]
And I’m saying none of this as a United fan! I’m saying as a football fan that sees just how much money is ruining football. Just look at our own club and the glazers being able to do a leveraged buyout. It’s fucking shocking
Andy Burnham. I don’t know what to say. You’re saying you won’t comment but then still comment what you have. If that’s not putting unnecessary pressure on the outcome you clearly want I don’t know what is! You’re a fucking charlatan too. Crocked just like every politician
If the harshes of punishments isn’t handed out not only does it diminish the integrity of the premier league but also if I was any of the other clubs be it past or present. I’d genuinely boycott games. They have to. Their has to be integrity in the game
I can’t believe I’m saying it, but I genuinely feel for City fans. Because everything you’ve known or witnessed is just a complete lie. The club has cheated you.
If you don’t want City;
- Relegated
- No CL for a long period
- Owners forced to sell
- Huge lawsuits for what your clubs missed out on either via relegation or European ⚽️
Why? Ask yourselves that, why? They’ve cheated. They’ve brought the game we all love into disrepute! 3/3
Those other clubs, the ones that were complying with PSR and weren’t cooking the books. Missed out on revenue. This missing out on players and a potential better season the following season. This is massive. Ginormous even. £900m 2/3
Look this is cheating/fraud/corruption of the highest level. The book should be thrown at them. They should be sued by every club that’s gone down in that timeframe because of results. Or clubs that didn’t make European football because of those results 1/3
Back in 2014, there was a man who was already aware of the irregularities involving Manchester City. That man now runs FIFA. The infamous Gianni Infantino, then UEFA General Secretary, abused his authority, shared confidential documents and, in short, outmanoeuvred the Investigatory Chamber, doing everything in his power to ensure that both Manchester City and PSG would merely receive a fine, avoiding a deeper investigation that could have led to a Champions League ban. All of these details were also revealed through Football Leaks.
Given his actions as UEFA General Secretary and, more recently, as FIFA President, I can only say, in my humble opinion, that Gianni Infantino has become a cancer on football and should have no place in the future of the game.
Well Andy burham can fuck off aswell then. You can’t protect criminals. That’s not how it works. Although being a politician I’m not surprised in the slightest
