As a Lawyer, I fully support the constitutional right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. Every Nigerian should be free to practice their faith without discrimination. However, I have an observation on this topic even though I am a Muslim.
If a parent voluntarily enrolls their child in a private, faith-based school that has a clearly established religious identity and dress code, should that school be compelled to abandon those rules because of the religious beliefs of an individual student?
For example, if a Muslim parent chooses a Christian school and the school has a uniform policy that does not include the hijab, should the school be legally required to change its policy? Likewise, if a Christian student enrolls in a Muslim school where wearing the hijab is part of the school's religious ethos, should the student be exempt from that requirement?
In my opinion, the answer depends on the nature of the school.
Public schools, being government institutions, should respect and protect constitutional rights equally. Private faith-based schools, on the other hand, should generally be allowed to preserve the religious character upon which they were founded, provided their rules are clear, lawful, and known before admission.
Parents have choices. If a school religious philosophy or dress code does not align with your convictions, it is better to choose a school that reflects your beliefs rather than enrolling there and seeking to change its identity afterwards. Muslims parents should register their children in a Muslim school or register your child in a public school. Enough of always playing victim cards that they want your child to wear Hijab in a Christian Private school. That’s what you will get if you decided to register them in a Christian private school despite the number of Private Muslim schools in the Country.
Thank you.

Dear Blessing,
I just came across your tweet, and it truly inspired me.
To graduate with a First Class in Mathematics from UNILORIN and then earn a fully funded Master's admission in Italy is an extraordinary achievement. You have demonstrated excellence and the promise that exists in so many young Nigerians.
No young person who has worked this hard should have such an opportunity limited by the cost of getting there. It would be my privilege to support your journey by covering what is left in the cost of your relocation.
@nancy_i_i from my office will reach out to you today.
Congratulations once again. Go, excel, and continue to make Nigeria proud.
Once I ask you, an active football fan/watcher, who your GOAT is and you start the you don't support anyone gimmick, I already have my answer.
Messi fans no dey shame to claim am.
Your citizenship really determines so much for you. As a Nigerian, your matter long ooo.
I had a Saudi classmate when I was fling my Masters. He explained to me that all Saudis in the UK were fully sponsored by the government. I asked what his plan was after school, he said he was going back home to take up a job. He didn't even like the UK. I don't blame him, he struggled with the language and culture.
I had Korean classmates (those ones are always rich and clean). No one was staying back or had plan to.
I saw Chinese classmate 2 years later. He had started a business with his babe. He told me the government encourages them to take loan to invest abroad. I thought we were just having a discussion. I didn't know he had his plan mapped out.
My Spanish friend (the only one I still talk to), I asked him when he was going to pick up his British passport since he was eligible for it having been in UK for many years, he said he didnt need it that his passport takes him where he needs to go. I spoke to him recently and he said he is looking to leave the UK soon. He wants to return home to Barcelona. That reminds me, he has been inviting me to Barcelona 🤦♂️
At the start of Covid, my Canadain flatmate packed his bag and left. He told me he would finish his program from there. I once asked how he was paying for his program (Law Undergraduate), he said he took a loan from the bank in Canada.
Then you look at Nigerians- we are always looking for how to stay back at all cost because home offers nothing. Conversation always centred around sponsorship jobs - even if it is care job. This is after working 12 hours shift through out your Masters to pay for your fees and cover for your living expenses. People are even so desperate, they are paying 10k to 12k for sponsorship job just to stay back.
I didn't fully understand it then. Years later, after joining Twitter and seeing the level of tribalism and ethnic rivalry, the statement finally made sense to me.
The first time my Government teacher explained the difference between a nation, a state, and a republic, he said, "Nigeria is a state, but not yet a nation."
Women have contributed significantly to the rise and popularity of the Andrew Tate mindset among many modern men.
