#CleanAirDay Tree Fresno is on the campus of Fresno State, planting 65 large-canopy, drought-tolerant CalFire Urban & Community Forestry trees with the helping hands of over 100 volunteers!
Tree Fresno is thrilled to be partnering with https://t.co/JQGUEhWeKs on this campaign of planting water-wise trees throughout the Valley! Thanks to @fresnometrobcc and @CAL_FIRE for partnering with us to increase Tree Equity in the @CityofFresno
@irms@baldwithhairgel@cres_guez We should continue to plant & care for our urban canopy ... for climate benefits, comfort, and longevity (for all). Water conservation will forever remain part of the equation. We have a drought-tolerant demo garden at TF. We will be introducing "Biodiversity Hubs" in SW in 2022
@irms@PhilSkei Limitations lie mostly in ensuring designated irrigation. Though permitting can pose a challenge in the urban landscape, TF navigates. Those who plant in the Valley, especially farmers, understand that it is a good rule of thumb to never plant trees w/out irrigation.
@Nickolas11111@irms @2036Kenny Yes, WATER IS LIFE. Even the "drought-tolerant" need a lil' drink here and there! We typically have $ from CALFIRE to support the planting of trees (we negotiate irrigation with partners) but TF runs on a shoestring! We get a lot done w/3 FTEs & devoted community partners.
@irms This? requires a multi-faceted response. Tree Fresno has planted 50,000 urban trees since 1985. The organization, begun by "a group of concerned citizens," has worked tirelessly throughout our region's dry climate, with limited funding for long-term tree care and maintenance.

We’re delighted to announce @TreeFresno’s pledge to the US Chapter of @1t_org! Their commitment to grow the Central San Joaquin Valley Urban Forest by growing 20,000 Water-Wise trees will address environmental justice and benefit disadvantaged communities: https://t.co/RXCD8GL81v
I’m proud to introduce the #TREESAct, which will create a grant program at @ENERGY to provide $50 MILLION in funding to plant a minimum of 300,000 trees annually in residential neighborhoods through 2026.
Thanks to @AsmGarcia for championing $400 M for Urban Forestry and Urban Greening Programs. When the best time to plant a tree? Let's do it today and every day! @drarambula559@rudysalasjr
.@AsmGarcia Thank you for championing $400 million for Urban Forestry and Urban Greening Programs. Summers in California are getting hotter & these programs will help provide livable communities for people of color. Over 100 CBOs & small businesses support you. #CABudget#CALeg
