Leave it again to our glorious media to follow the shiny object. My biggest concern about the Gaetz nomination, is not that he'll actually get confirmed - he won't, and it's not that he'll get recess-confirmed - Thune won't bite at that. But it's the misdirection and the media gets misdirected all the time.
The media is so focused on Gaetz above all other nominees because there's sordid sexual allegations and sex sells, and he's easy fodder for outrage by hosts.
But my concern is that the Gaetz nomination obscures THE most horrible nomination of all time - Putin sympathizer Tulsi Gabbard to run "Intelligence" - that CANNOT happen. Holy shit if that goes down - game set and match Putin.
AND -- the Gaetz nomination also sets the stage for Trump to nominate a slightly less off-putting choice as AG next, one that is equally partisan to him, and everyone will say: "Whew. At least it's not Gaetz."
