For those who weren’t able to grab a Hornets Summer League Championship T-shirt, we’re giving one away (Large) along with the limited-edition poster (No. 212 of 500).
Just retweet and follow me and @CLTure for a chance to win! Winner announced on Monday, August 4.
@J_Hooper_ I go back and forth on it. I could see them trotting him out to try and drum up a little more interest to trade him in the off-season. I don’t think the bridge is as burned as everyone says. There is not a chance he gets extended though
@J_Hooper_ Yeah that’s a good point. He’s undersized for a Center. Having a 4 that can’t shoot in today’s game is tough though. Maybe it can work alongside Nurk because he can stretch the floor. I wonder if Moose would be as effective not being the only big
@J_Hooper_ That’s ridiculous though because trades don’t ever get rescinded. Now we have a potential logjam at center stunting the Moose’s development and preventing us from showcasing Nurk’s value
@J_Hooper_ Don’t hate it but the pick is going to be bad and Nurk was clearly supposed to be a stopgap while we figure out the center position. Resuscitate his value to flip him next season as an expiring. I was saying maybe you wait if you think there’s any chance the Mark deal blows up?
@Kembacrossover@J_Hooper_ Injuries have obviously been the biggest thing getting in the way of the Hornets winning but I can usually chalk those up to bad luck you can’t avoid. It’s all the other stuff that kills me like the Mark Williams trade, Kenny Atkinson, Miles Bridges DV case, etc
@J_Hooper_ I specifically said it was a *forced* error haha. Lakers came with a deal that was too good to say no. Are the hornets supposed to turn it down because they’re afraid the Lakers will back out last minute? I guess you could argue Nurk was a mistake but you can’t anticipate this
@J_Hooper_ Not to mention the cost they sunk into him when they could’ve kept Duren, developed other centers, drafted Clingan, kept Nick, not traded for Nurk, the list goes on. Maybe they somehow keep him or dump him for pennies on the dollar but it’s just such a forced error it’s crazy.
@J_Hooper_ The Mark Williams situation in particular is driving me crazy. The hornets essentially lost their 3rd best asset and 3 first round picks just because the Lakers came snooping around. He’s just gone. This sets the team back ~4 years when you take into account the assets they lost.
@Brandon_garci45@J_Hooper_ Came to say this as well. I’ve been a fan since the rebrand and I’m closer now than I ever have been to giving up. I can’t continue to be so invested in this team. Feels like they’re already starting from behind being a small market and then they can’t catch a single break.
